Statutory Consultation on Renewables Obligation Order 2009

In order to ensure that the needs of climate change and energy security are met cost-effectively, the development of renewable energy sources will be key.  The EU target of 20% of energy from renewables by 2020 will be difficult to achieve and so the Renewables Obligation will be banded in order to improve upon the progress already made.  The proposals will cover 4 sections:

• The principles of banding
• Operating the banding regime
• Biomass and waste issues
• Administrative changes

FEY will be responding to the consultation and anyone wishing to include their comments in the FEY response should contact Sue Brown.
