FEY, like most organisations, has limited resources and in order meet our challenging targets of increased renewable capacity and carbon reductions, the team’s efforts must remain focused. We therefore pursue projects with a high probability of success and with good potential for replication across the region.
We will consider projects falling within the following technologies and sectors:
- Biomass fuels
- Biomass heat generation from 50kWt upwards
- Biomass power and combined heat and power from 50kWe to 50MWe
- Micro-hydro schemes up to 5MWe capacity
- Gas and multi-fuel combined heat and power from 50kWe to 50MWe
- Heat recovery schemes
- Community heating
- “Hydrogen economy” projects – i.e. fuel cells, electrolysers and storage systems
- Integrated, multiple technology systems
- Wind projects where there are unique features that prevent their development by private sector companies or where there are specific community interests
This list is not exhaustive and we will consider other options, but we will not invest in projects that we consider to be at the technology development stage rather than early deployment stage.
