The Future Energy Yorkshire team has intimate knowledge of the issues associated with new and renewable energy project development. We are able to provide direct and contracted resources to facilitate the project development process.  Where projects meet our evaluation criteria, we will seek to enter a commercial partnership with private and/or public sector bodies to develop the project and will take on some of that development risk in exchange for a share of future benefits.

Project Delivery

We initially carry out an early stage assessment of project potential in respect of emissions savings, replication potential, economic viability and other regional benefits.

 If the project meets our initial criteria, we will establish a more formal relationship seeking a commitment to value our input and will part fund or provide direct resource to complete a feasibility study into the proposal. The study will investigate technical options, capital and operating costs and project risks in more detail.

Provided the feasibility study indicates a viable project that still meets our selection criteria, we will then seek to enter into a Heads of Agreement to develop the project. At this stage we will agree commitments between the parties and provisional funding sources for the scheme. During the project development phase all the necessary planning and environmental consents will be obtained, the technical design finalised and construction contracts tendered. Supply and off-take contracts will also be established to ensure that the project is bankable. Milestones and decision points will be agreed at the outset to ensure that the project can move smoothly through development to construction and operation.

FEY can either provide direct resource or contract resource to support all activities during the development phase, but will work in partnership with the project proponent to establish the best mix of support required.
